After a sweaty few days trekking in Taman Negara we were so relieved to arrive in Malacca. We had just booked a flight to the Philippines and wanted to send a few days relaxing, shopping and enjoying the fantastic variety of Asian food we had been enjoying in Malaysia. The city was full of interesting handicraft shops, local eateries and divided with a colourfully lit river at night.
We bought pashmina’s from Kashmir, Malay trinkets and feasted on Chinese pork buns. For the last few weeks we had been spoiled with Chinese chicken rice ball, Malay nasi lemak and Indian roti canai (delicious flakey and soft fried bread). It would be a shame to leave the delicious food behind but we were excited to get back to a beach.
